July 31: A spike headband

WOW! It's August tomorrow!
Time has litteraly flown and I don't even know what I have spent the last 7 months on.
I guess blogging chewed up a whole part of my time, but that was always pleasure and never pain!
The older I get the more I start reflecting on life and how I live it at the end of each month. It's a feeling that I never used to know when I was a kid. A feeling of "time is running out". Something your parents keep talking about when they look at old photos. That feeling you cannot relate to, because you're only 15 and you want to go out clubbing and get drunk and meet boys you can drive crazy. Then all of a sudden you hit your early twenties and you start freaking out and thinking "Why didn't I travel the world before I became this adult with a bucketload of responsibilities on my shoulders?" etc...
Sometimes I feel George Bernard Shaw was right when he said youth was wasted on the young...

But you know what, at 22 my life is hopefully far from being over and even though there is still a lot on my to-do-list, I am very content. Let's face it: You can plan on sheding kilos and getting rich and finally starting your own business, but in the end that's not what counts. What counts is looking back and not regretting a thing. Especially not the stuff that was challenging and took guts to do. But also not the lazy times, the times you sat around in your pyjamas all day and didn't even brush

eth because all you wanted to do was watch re-runs of and eat peanut butter.
I grew up in a very work driven family, my mum and dad started their own business when I was a tiny little bean and I always knew that without hard work you get nothing in return. It's the only way to succeed. Noone is going to give you anything for free so you gotta get your butt working. That attitude has helped me to get ahead in life SO much, but it also has its downsides. I find it extremely hard to relax. Oh my...first world problems, I know...

I look back and my days and evaluate my productivity levels (obviously without a chart but still in a very controlling kind of way) and feel bad about myself, if I haven't done as much work as I was expecting I could get done. Or wasting a whole evening in front of the telly. I can't stand it and I go to bed feeling unaccomplished and underchallenged.

Do you guys feel this way sometimes?

Ah well..anyway. I will go and watch some Teen Wolf (aka most amazing tv show of the year) and feel happy because I have just ordered THIS off eBay for not even $ 3.00.

July 30 - 2: pastels on bleach blondes

Blondes are out. Let's face it. We are not the number one sex objects of the stereotypical man anymore. Brunettes are the new blondes and even though there was only a shift in sexist behaviour and the sexism is still making me ill,  I am quite happy to catch a break. A couple of years ago I went from super bleach blonde to a darker shade for the simple reason that I was craving more respect. A respect society withheld from me solely because of my hair colour. Yes, I was totally considered a dumb blonde and I had enough. Now I am thinking: Why did I give in? And I am planning a comeback :)

BUT since my addiction to pastel dip dye is about to awaken to new life, I am yet to decide wether to go with colour or bleach.

I know most of you will think: Go pastel! ..and since this is a trend that I'll probably only get to enjoy for another season and it is only a matter of time until work will stop tolerating fairy floss hair, it was an easy decision. I actually ordered two tubs of Directions off eBay. Here's the colour chart. Now it's your turn to guess which two I picked!?!

 Hint: One of the colours is SO easy to guess, it's in row two. The other one is in row four (fttb)

July 30: Getting there...

Oh yes, slowly but steadily getting there. Only about 10 cartons to unpack, then it's onto throwing stuff out. You can tell by this photo that I have absolutely no talent when it comes to interior design. I am happy as long as there is quirk, kitsch and emotionally valuable stuff.

PS: I am the happiest person ever to have an actual computer back in my life. A computer that is in an office with a massive cupboard JUST for my stuff. After a year of having all of my possessions tucked away I am feeling a sense of freedom. And I am not (just) talking about shoes, I am talking about having all my art and photographs displayed, all my photographic equipment handy and having a space to write and create. Anyone who does anything creative will tell you that you need a retreat of some kind in which you can spread out your thoughts and turn them into something awesome.
I am SO happy to have this kind of space back. Last time I had an actual office was HERE  which feels like a gazillion years ago. I still remember watching weird Eastern European movies and tons of music videos after work and drawing, experimenting with stop-motion and photographing a lot more. I feel like this room has just as much potential to become my creative oasis. YAY. Sadly my cardboard deer doesn't exist anymore and I am still looking for my QOTSA limited edition print, but there is new art in the mail for me from an incredibly talented girl I met at work. I'll link her shit when my prints arrive, but be sure to buy some of her art if you like it (and you will!). Support your local artists, guys. Don't buy prints from Target.

July 26: I am back babes

Oh I've missed you guys. I hate not having imaginary friends to talk to. I am currently recovering from a quasi nervous breakdown since moving is a cunt and I am a bit of a freak in terms of wanting to know where all my belongings are. Five days after it was last seen I am still looking for my foundation and Clarisonic. People ask me if I'm ill and I respond that in my head I am, very much so. Yes yes. The kitchen hasn't been tested yet since half of it isn't working. Reason enough to rely heavily on takeaway and it was Day 5 yesterday that I had fried food with fries for dinner. My body tells me to stop this horrible abuse by giving me the
old apple crumble face and jiggly wiggly thighs. I could have put this whole story in one short sentence: Moving is the most unpleasent experience and I urge you to never go through it, for the sake of your health and sanity. On the upside I now am the temp owner of a shoe cupboard. Hooray!!!
I have decided to make up for the last week of not posting. First of all I gotta do this really annoying and time consuming stuff though (work) and then I'm all yours. xxx and thanks for sticking around!!!!

I am boring and I am bored. Currently surrounded by all my possessions in boxes, I feel like screaming a bit. Thankfully my mum can cheer me up in a matter  of seconds. I also am rather fond of yelling out the dog's name during a Skype session so the poor little fluffball gets all excited but extremely confused.
At least that way I know the monster still remembers me.

What a pain in the ass but yes-flights are finally bookes and thank you Mum and Dad for always paying for my expensive as long distance flights. I know I should've at least chosen a country that is within driving distance to live in BUT I chose otherwise and having parents who support that decision is pretty darn amazing. I love you x 1000.
Now it's time to count down the days until I can enjoy all of these awesome things:

July 8: You ain't no bra

When dressmakers feel inspired and create awesome cleavages and low cut backs, do they ever think of how girls with boobs are supposed to pull them off?

This is a mixture of a boa constrictor wrapped around your rib cage and two halves of a coconut covering nothing but a side boob and half a nipple. Two drinks down and twenty minutes into the party the constant pulling and adjusting results in the bra showing on my back and creating some very unpleasent backfat. People avoid me because my wardrobe malfunction is both taking up all my attention and slowly turning me into an angry drunk.

The solution: Take the damn thing off and show off your stiff nips to the numerous party guests.

July 5h: I am slacking off

Sorry for not blogging on Thursday. I simply forgot. Have got so many things on my mind right now, first and foremost MOVING! Yes, Dan and I are moving house in two weeks and I couldn't be more excited. I'll show you photos when we're in but I can reveal that it's a house from the 70ies with original retro kitchen and wallpaper!!!  Did I mention it has a bar as well? Quite amazing.

It's now halftime for my little project here and I am flipping proud as a goat. Never have I stuck to anything for this long in my life and I am feeling very adult and responsible now.

So what's been happening the last couple of months.

I am currently struggling with booking flights to Europe. Well, not struggling but I am still hesitant to click the 'book now' - button, since I will be looking at around 5 grand AUD. There is a lot of saving coming up. Time for a garage sale!!!
