HIYA!

Many months have passed since I last took to the good olde blogger format and I can tell you I MISSED THIS! I have been super caught up with work (as usual), been trying to not neglect my husband, dog, family, friends AND myself in the process of being a mad hatter manager, but you know how it is, something's got to give and in this case it was my good friend the blog. During my absence I, amongst other things, went on holidays and sat anxiously on planes pretty much every second day and binged my way through both seasons of "Orange is the new black" while nearly dying of the worst flu I have ever had and wishing for my mommy to take care of me.

So here's a quick update on my life and what I've been up to in the past four months.

JUNE

June kicked off with a trip to Casino Beef Week, where I ate a gigantic pink ball of cotton candy and drank naturally brewed ginger beer out of a paper straw - I know, so pinteresting! I also managed to see some fireworks for 'midsommar'. Amazing! I took my fortieth something flight for the year in June, which took a massive toll on my health (turns out getting up at 3 am, sitting in an icy cold germ-riddled metal tube for several hours and then working a 15 hr day isn't healthy!). But flight number 46 took me and Dan to Austria, which we left for on the last day of the month - I can tell you that those 28 days in between the above photo and boarding that Etihad plane were THE longest out of my working life so far! I also had to deal with leaving Marlow with friends for two weeks, which was pretty much the hardest experience since I've become a dog owner! It all went more than well (he slept in his hosts' bed the cheeky furbaby!). Thanks again to our friends for looking after him!

JULY

Austria, oh Austria. We couldn't have chosen a better time to visit - Summer was rainy and cold this year back home, but we managed to get almost two weeks of sunshine and high temperatures. I cannot imagine ever being as mesmerized and stunned by the beauty of my home country as happened this year, but you know what they say - you don't know what you've got until it's gone! Or in my case, until you move onto the other side of the globe. To give you an idea of what it was like, imagine fields in full bloom, birds singing, millions of bees and insects buzzing and the smell of cut grass and hay in the air. I'm not exaggerating when I say the whole time I was there I felt like my life wasn't short of being a scene in a Disney movie! Every year I go back for a visit, there is always a bit of uncertainty about how many of my friends will still be around for a catch up, and thankfully I have yet to complain about the turn out. It's amazing to know that no matter how many years I've been away for, I can always rely on the same people to come around to say hi and have a beer with me. During one of those drunken escapades I also made plans for my most recent adventure with my best friend of 12 years. You can check out my instagram, but I'm also posting about it here tomorrow. And no need to mention this, but my family consists of the best and most important people in this world! Oh and my sister and I also got matching tattoos while I was there! So much exciting stuff happened during that holiday, guys!!!

AUGUST

As you can imagine the post-holiday blues hit hard in August. Work wise I basically had the worst month of my management career and my health reflected my mental state. In short - August sucked in many ways, but the only thing that made it better was the fact I finally committed to the midi skirt I'm wearing in this photo. Crop tops and midi skirts on short curvy girls are, so Cosmo tells me, a fashion no-no. But Cosmo can get fucked. They reprint the same shitty articles since the 90ies anyway. So yeah....I now have a thing for midi skirts! Oh and I nearly forgot, I also booked my super awesome September adventure this month. So adventure and midi skirts, good. Rest of the month, bad. BAD!

WHOOOZAAA.
Living that magical wizard life. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post - some epic photos and a massive travel diary await you! How was your third quarter of 2014?????
